SQUID - Membership
HOW DO I JOIN SQUID?
You're welcome to join us for two free consecutive workouts at any one of our practices. See our Workouts page for more information. Please see the SQUID New Swimmer Form. It provides us with contact information (including emergency contacts) and a waiver. Either print it, fill it out, and bring it to your first practice or fill it out on deck.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
1. Each practice (after your 2 free ones) cost $7 for members ($6.36/swim if you buy a block of 10 swims online, here). The per-practice cost is $7.50/swim for non-members. You can pay in advance or pay-as-you-go. It's easiest if you pay online using PayPal, or bring a check (preferred) or cash to practice and give it to one of the coaches or Team Captains.
2. SQUID annual membership is: $30.00 for the year (if signed up in January-June); $15.00 for 6 months (if signed up July-December).
We Need All Swimmers to purchase a COMSA (Colorado Masters Swimming Association) annual membership, which is the local counterpart of USMS (United States Master's Swimming). Importantly, it provides swimming-specific liability coverage for all workouts and competitions and allows you to compete with SQUID at USMS sanctioned swim meets. There are additional perks to being a member including a free year subscription to Swimming Magazine, Master Splash newsletter (official on-line publication of COMSA), discounts on products, and access to online resources. USMS/COMSA 1 Year Membership is $52.00.
WHAT ABOUT WOMEN SWIMMERS?
The success of our team is directly related to diversity and participation of women swimmers. Women swimmers increase the range of interests and activities, both social and athletic, our members bring to the group. We actively seek new women members and currently have a core group of women swimmers who practice together during workouts.
